On September 8th the State Committee of Information Technology and Communications of
the Kyrgyz Republic puts into circulation a new series of Kyrgyz Express Post postage stamps: “The
Anniversaries of Great Musicians”.
The year 2016 marks anniversaries of great musicians of the world, who made invaluable
contributions to the development of the musical culture of mankind: the 125th birth anniversary of the
Russian composer S. S. Prokofiev, the 175th birth anniversary of the Czech composer A. Dvořák, the
100th birth anniversary of violinist and conductor Y. Menuhin and the 225th death anniversary of the
Austrian composer W. A. Mozart.
The KEP series consists of four stamps that depict the outstanding musicians of the world,
whose anniversaries are celebrated this year.
Besides the mentioned stamps, KEP also issues 4 postal cards, dedicated to the great
musicians. These cards, together with the new stamp and a special pictorial first day cancellation,
will be used to make four maximum cards.
Stamps description.
No. 45. 50 KGS. Sergei Prokofiev (1891 - 1953).
The 125th birth anniversary.
No. 46. 50 KGS. Yehudi Menuhin (1916 - 1999).
The 100th birth anniversary.
No. 47. 100 KGS. Antonín Dvořák (1841 - 1904).
The 175th birth anniversary.
No. 48. 100 KGS. Wolfgang A. Mozart (1756 -
1791). The 225th death anniversary.

Paper: coated, gummed, 105 g/m2 .
Printing method: full-colour offset lithography.
Stamps perforation: comb 14:14½.
Stamps size: 46.00 х 27.50 mm.
Sheets size: 120.00 x 108.00 mm.
Collective sheet size: 120.00 х 80.50 mm.
Stamps are issued in sheetlets of 4 stamps and in a
collective sheet of 4 stamps (1 complete set).
Quantity issued: 8 000 pieces each stamp, including the
quantity of the collective minisheet — 4 000 pieces.

Printer House: “Nova Imprim”.
A special cancellation on FDC will be carried out at the Bishkek KEP Office (729002) on the stamps issuing day.
The first day covers and special postmark are designed by Vladimir Melnic.

For this issue four maximum cards were made.
