On July 2nd, 2015 Kyrgyz Express Post (KEP) is issuing the souvenir sheet “175th Anniversary of the World's First Postage Stamp”.
On May 6th, 1840 the first world's postage stamp was issued in Great Britain, which initiated the radical postal reform, as well as the worldwide philatelic movement. The stamp is known in philately as the “Penny Black” (because of the miniature's colour and face value). The KEP souvenir sheet, consisting of one stamp, is dedicated to the 175th anniversary of the world's first postage stamp.
