UNO Declarations: 2015 - International Year of Light and International Year of Soils

On September 2nd, 2015 Kyrgyz Express Post (KEP) is issuing its series of stamps, dedicated to UNO declarations.
The UN General Assembly announced the year 2015 to be the International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies as well as the International Year of Soils. The series therefore includes two postage miniature sheets.
Stamps description.
No 19
No. 18. 50.00 KGS. International Year of Soils. The stamp represents an open boll of the cotton plant. In the background a typical mountain landscape of Kyrgyzstan is depicted. In the left upper corner of the stamp the official International Year of Soils logo is presented.
No. 19. 75.00 KGS. International Year of Light. The stamp represents a stylized image of an electric discharge running through the Earth. The official International Year of Light logo is also presented.
Technical specifications.
Paper: coated, gummed, 105 g/m2.
Printing method: full-colour offset lithography, partial gloss finish.
Stamps perforation: comb 13 syncopated.
Stamps size: 34,00 х 34,00 mm.
Sheets size: 168,00 х 100,00 mm.
Sheets composition: Stamps are issued in minisheets of 8 stamps and in a collective sheet of
8 stamps (4 stamps no. 18 and 4 stamps no. 19).
Quantity issued: stamps nos. 18-19 - 10 000 pieces of each stamps, including the quantity of
the collective sheet — 500 pieces.

A special cancellation on FDC will be carried out at the Bishkek KEP Office (729002) on the
stamp issuing day.
The First Day Covers and special Postmarks are painted by Oleg Cojocari and designed by
Aliona Cojocari.

black.
