On April 30, 2024 the Ministry of Digital Development of the Kyrgyz
Republic puts into circulation a series of 2023 Kyrgyz Express Post postage stamps: "Ishembay Abdraimov
Kyrgyz Aviation Institute, 50th Anniversary".
A new issue of KEP stamps is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of
the Ishembay Abdraimov Kyrgyz Aviation Institute (KAI).
The stamp with the face value of 150 som features a portrait of the
founder of the higher aviation educational institution of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ishembay Abdraimov, against
the backdrop of the central entrance to the institute building. Ishembay Abdraimov (1914 - 2001) was
the first Kyrgyz aviator, the initiator and organizer of civil aviation in Kyrgyzstan. In 1966, Ishembay
Abdraimov became the first holder of the honorary title "Honoured Pilot of the USSR" with badge No. 000001.
In 1973, he assisted in the opening of the Frunze Aviation Technical School of Civil Aviation in the capital
of Kyrgyzstan, which later became the Ishembay Abdraimov Kyrgyz Aviation Institute. In 1994, Ishembay
Abdraimov was awarded the gold medal of the International Civil Aviation Organization ICAO.
The stamp with the face value of 300 som depicts a Boeing 737-484.
Aircraft of this class are used by airlines in Kyrgyzstan. The coupons of the collective sheet feature an
AN-2 aircraft and a Mi-24 helicopter located on the territory of KAI. The coupons of the minisheet depict a
Yak-40 aircraft (KAI training ground) and a BRM Aero Bristell NG 5 aircraft (Bishkek Wings Aviation Training
Center).
KEP congratulates the staff of the Ishembay Abdraimov Kyrgyz
Aviation Institute on their anniversary and expresses sincere gratitude for their assistance in preparing
this stamp issue.
For this series, KEP also issues two postcards, which are used to
realize two maximum cards.

Stamps perforation: comb 14:14½.
Stamps size: 46 × 27.5 mm.
Stamps are issued in minisheets of 5 stamps with one label. Stamps are also issued in a collective minisheet of 2 stamps (one complete set and two labels). The coupons of the collective sheet feature an AN-2 aircraft and a Mi-24 helicopter. The coupons of the minisheet depict a Yak-40 and a BRM Aero Bristell NG 5 aircraft.

Quantity issued: 10 500 pieces each stamp, including the
quantity of the collective minisheet - 3 000 pieces.

A special cancellation on FDC will be carried out at the Bishkek KEP Office (729001) on the stamps issuing day. The first day cover depicts the "Big Lotus" Olympic Sports Center in Hangzhou.
